It seems like each time we sit down to write an update, our life is full of new things happening. It's difficult to keep up sometimes but we feel that's a good thing.
Since our last post, we've tried our best to settle in as a family of four, but have quickly learned that it will always be changing, especially in the early years. We love our little crew though and are trying to do as many things together as we can. It's one of the major perks of our life - the kids can come as often as we want. That has recently become much easier as we've just bought a new van!
We are so thankful to God and to a supporter who read our last blog and made the van possible. We've had it for less than a week and already it's proven to be perfect for what we need. It holds all of us, a ton of pottery supplies, and we can drive through the rain without getting wet!
We've also started trial running some ideas with the Pottery House. We plan to be fully operational this coming fall but for now, we've put our focus on two things just a few days a week. Benj opened up training to the guys who come to the Banquet House for food a couple of days a week. Several of them have come in for one or two lessons, but one guy has really stuck with it and seems to enjoy every moment. We'd love to see him go further so join us in praying for wisdom in how to do that. In the fall, we hope to open things up to the guys most mornings of the week. We could also use prayer for strategy for the best way to structure things to see the most fruit.
The second thing we've focused on wasn't on our radar until suddenly, we found ourselves teaching at an international school here twice a week. We've had a lot of fun teaching younger students and hope to eventually break into some Nepali schools. It also seems like an answer to prayer as we were looking for ways the business could generate income to help subsidize what we're doing with the guys from Banquet House and hopefully help us be able to create more jobs in the future.
It feels as though we've just gotten our feet wet and will be diving further into each of these things as time goes on. We're excited to see more of this vision take shape and will keep you posted as the plan develops. When you think of us, pray for us!
Much love from our little family in Nepal!
