Every October, Nepalis celebrate a Hindu holiday called Dashain. I won't explain what it is as I haven't been through one yet but if you're interested, check out wikipedia's explanation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dashain.
During this festival businesses and schools close for different lengths of time so that people can travel to be with family and celebrate together. Our goal this year is to take Iris Nepal to Pokhara, a beautiful city with a big lake about 7 hours away by bus. Its a great time for our kids to see different parts of Nepal and try things they never have before. However, we can't do it without all of your help.
This is a rare thing for us, but we could really use your financial support. The overall trip will cost about $1,000 USD and we're already over half way there. The cost covers:
Transportation - to, from, and around Pokhara
Food and Lodging
We'll take pictures and let you know all about it when we get back, but if you'd like to donate, please email me and I'll let you know the best way to do that:
Blessings on you all!
